First one of these I've been to, so forgive any mistakes! Was held at one of the fairgrounds buildings, which is where I assume they do it all the time, in an air conditioned room. Which was good because it was hot as !@#* outside!!! Well over 100 people, all seemed nice and no fights (darn).
Wide selection of stuff including dart machines, change machines, lots-a-slots, jukeboxes and videogames. 13% buyers premieum, 10% if paying with cash (easier to convert at the topless clubs in town I guess). The super auction people seemed nice enough, despite several stories here to the contrary, and only incident I saw was one video that seemed not to work, until owner opened back door and reconnected monitor that someone had unplugged!
Total of 29 pins, which included the Baby Pac. All games were up and running unless stated otherwise...
Baby Pac-Man $650 nice Wipe Out $775 nice Independence Day $900 nice, gen. illumination, dead dmd, wouldn't start Jurassic Park $900 nice Baywatch $700 nice but dirty (what a big-ass DMD! Matches the girls') World Challenge Soccer $500 nice, slight wear, started but missing balls Tales of The Arabian Nights $2025 Wow! Nice but dmd had rolling line Godzilla $1200 lit up, no balls, would not start Fireball Classic $275 Disc spun, displays dead, would not start Devil Riders $did not meet reserve of $650, totally dead, nice cond. World Cup Soccer $did not meet reserve of ?, real nice, shopped Black Knight $550 1st of 2, poor PF& BG but worked great Gilligan's Island $525 nice, lit up but did not work The Machine Bride of Pinbot $950 very nice Simpsons $1100 nice but some wear Lethal Weapon 3 $875 nice cond, started but would not eject ball, a very ugly game(artwork) Star Trek TNG $1000 dirty but nice, dmd bad Comet $700 very nice(made my ratty one at home look rattier) Lost World $1200 dirty, missing ball, ball locked in egg trap Guns & Roses $1150 very nice, If I had $ I woulda bought it, first time I saw this game and really seemed to be a good merger of concept/pinball Twilight Zone $1400 dirty, clock worked Airborne $900 very nice Black Knight $775 2nd of 2, very nice PF &BG, shopped, met reserve Phoenix $375 worn & cracked PF, worked good Laserball $325 fair cond, some displays bad, worked good Heavy Metal Meltdown $475 dirty but good overall Cyclone $750 nice, wear at top, guy bought it for his arcade in Tampa Special Force $250, worn, PF cracking, I almost bought it, but guy who was bidding on it spent big $ all day and never lost Lady Sharpshooter $300 by gameplan, this seemed a little high?
They did the pinballs next to last in the auction, someone said they did them 1st last time and everyone left afterwards. So other items didn't sell. Prices on other stuff seemed to be good at this one so guess they were right! Overall, day went quick, my tastes lean torwards pre-85 stuff, so aside from the neat G & R, I had little intrest in most of them, but I'll check them out again in October.
