I had a chance to attend yesterday's Orlando auction and, while I have only been to two
auctions now (thus a very small sample space to be sure), I must say that it was not a good auction
at all in regards to what was being offered. I am also fortunate to have made friends with several
long time collectors and hobbyists that frequent the auction and it was commented that this was one
of the worst auctions that has occurred in a long time. As such I did not purchase anything. One can
only hope that the next auction, which does not occur here until the end of April (darn!) is much
better. Hopefully with 10-11 weeks separating the auctions there will be time for more units to
become available. For myself, though, the day was far from a total loss as I had a chance to meet a
new collector in person (a delightful fellow. I am also in dealing with him for a restored TRON!
Hooray!), see some friends from the last outing, and spend a nice day with my wife and a friend. Not
too bad!

There was one personal interesting note. My friend who attended the auction with my wife and
myself has thought me a bit "odd" for having interest in buying arcade units. However there just
happened to be a Primal Rage at the auction, which happens to be his favorite game. My friend was so
taken with having the game there that he was seriously considering bidding on it! Even though he did
not bid I was quite tickled (or is it vindicated? J ) that now even he was showing some interest
in arcades. However he felt the upright was just too large for him. Does anyone know if there is a
Primal Rage mini?

As for the prices I was so dismayed with what was available that I did not stay for the whole
auction and instead went with my family to enjoy a nice meal in Orlando before travelling to see the
TRON. However between myself and a fellow collector we gathered chronicled these machines and
